This is a heavily WiP archetype connected very closely to my Synchro-centric "Mashou" archetype. While Mashou would normally focus on pulling off using Spellcaster support and pulling off different Synchro Summons for a flexible strategy, Sorrowitch is the darker side of the Mashou Warriors brought out to their fullest. These will mainly be Xyz Monsters, and tend to have effects focused more on being both powerful and tough. Their ATK and DEF will usually be higher than the Synchro variants, and their effects will also lean towards offense over defense, aided by the potential for swarming "Familiar Tokens" that have a fraction of their power. In addition, they can of course take advantage of many DARK support cards to enhance their brutal offensive tactics.

Like the Mashou Warriors, they too could be splashed into other decks due to the different Attributes required for their Xyz Summons, but it will prove much less effective due to their highly demanding Xyz Material requirements. Mashou Warriors themselves count as 2 Xyz Material for these Xyz Summons, so they are the optimal monsters to use. Tomareiko, however, is unique in that it is harder for her to succumb to a full transformation into a Sorrowitch. Instead, her Xyz Monster variant is that of a Mashou Warrior who has lost her way. Her power is still very deadly, even without being able to make use of Sorrowitch support, and she instead still qualifies for "Mashou" support.

This card is also treated as Warrior-Type while face-up on the field. This card cannot be destroyed by battle. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; halve this card's ATK or DEF, then add that amount to this card's ATK or DEF. This effect can be activated during the Damage Step. During the turn you activate this card's effect, it cannot prevent itself from being destroyed in battle by its own effect.

You can also Xyz Summon this card using 1 "Mashou Stopper Alter, Tomareiko" you control as the Xyz Material. You can detach all Xyz Materials from this card; distribute Despair Counters among face-up monsters on the field, equal to the Xyz Materials detached x 3. A monster with at least 1 Despair Counter cannot be Tributed or used as Synchro Material, also its Level or Rank is decreased by the number of Despair Counters on it. When this card battles a monster with Despair Counters: Destroy that monster (without damage calculation), then inflict damage to your opponent equal to half the destroyed monster's DEF.

If a face-up "Sorrowitch" monster would be destroyed by a card effect, the owner can destroy 1 "Familiar Token" they control instead. Once per turn, if the turn player controls a face-up "Sorrowitch" monster: The turn player can Special Summon 1 "Familiar Token" (Fiend-Type/DARK/Level 1/ATK ?/DEF ?) for each face-up "Sorrowitch" monster they control. "Familiar Tokens" have ATK and DEF equal to half the ATK and DEF of 1 target "Sorrowitch" monster the turn player controls. When that target leaves the field, destroy all of its associated "Familiar Tokens".

Target 1 face-up "Sorrowitch" monster you control; Special Summon a number of "Familiar Tokens" (Fiend-Type/DARK/Level 1/ATK ?/DEF ?) equal to half the target's Level or Rank. These "Familiar Tokens" have ATK and DEF equal to half the target's ATK and DEF. When that target leaves the field, destroy all of its associated "Familiar Tokens".

No More Hope... ?
Quick-Play Spell Card
Target 1 face-up Level 4 or lower "Mashou" monster you control. Reveal 1 "Sorrowitch" Xyz Monster in your Extra Deck that the target can be used as Xyz Material for. Banish a number of monsters from your Graveyard equal to the revealed monster's Rank, then Xyz Summon it, using the target as the Xyz Material.

How Foolish...
Normal Trap Card
Target 1 face-up "Mashou Defender" monster; equip this card to that target. If the target would be destroyed by a card effect, destroy this card instead. When this card is destroyed while the target is still face-up on the field: You can Xyz Summon 1 "Sorrowitch Defender, Honero" from his/her Extra Deck using the target and this card as the Xyz Material.

Sorrowitch Festival, Walpurgisnacht
Continuous Trap Card
Activate only when a face-up "Sorrowitch" Xyz Monster is destroyed. If there is no face-up Field Spell Card on the field, activate 1 Field Spell Card from your Deck. Special Summon this card as an Effect Monster (Fiend-Type/DARK/Level 8/ATK 3500/DEF 3500). This face-up monster is unaffected by your opponent's card effects that target Trap Cards. If there is no face-up Field Spell Card on the field, destroy this card. Once per turn: You can target any number of DARK Xyz Monsters in either Graveyard; return them to the Extra Deck, then destroy a number of cards your opponent controls, up to the number of cards returned by this effect.
