| long time no see! just thought i'd come onto this site to share an archtype that i made a while ago, but never got around to sharing here. i'm just gonna skip the foreplay this time and let you all read to your hearts content. i encourage anyone of you to go ahead and try this with some friends. been doing it for a while and my friends have found this deck very enjoyable to play against. *insert disclaimer about how no pic used for these are mine, yada, yada, yada.* - Synopsis:
the idea of this deck is to make a fusion deck that is heavy on combos, but at the same time, forces player interaction for the most part. think of them as Yang Zings if they were fusion support instead of synchro support.
- Main Deck:
- Monster Cards:
- Mystic Compositionist:
- Stats/Effect:
ATK:200 DEF:1600 TYPE:Fairy ATT:Light LVL:4 Effect:You can substitute this card for any 1 Fusion Material Monster, but the other Fusion Material Monster(s) must be correct. When this card you control is destroyed by battle or card effect and sent to your Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 "Compositionist" monster from your Deck in Defense Position, except "Mystic Compositionist". You can only use this effect of "Mystic Compositionist" once per turn. during either players turn: you can tribute this face-up monster; add 1 spell card that Fusion Summons a monster to your hand. the card you add, or a card with the same name as that card, cannot be used until the end of your next turn.
- Comments:
this card right here is meant to be the card that helps set up your plays along with shadow (more on shadow in his comments). you can use mystic to search out any spell card that fusion summons to get your boss monsters out when you have the appropriate/desired compositionists on the field/hand/gy, but that comes at the cost of having an immediate playback, because it doesn't allow you to play any card with that name until the end of your next turn, giving the deck a sort of speed lock. i had done this on cards that i felt would've had too powerful of an effect with any other sort of drawbacks, but i'll cross that bridge when i get to it.
- Shadow Compositionist:
- Stats/Effect:
ATK:1300 DEF:100 TYPE:Fiend ATT:Dark LVL:3 Effect:When this card you control is destroyed by battle or card effect and sent to your Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 "Compositionist" monster from your Deck in Defense Position, except "Shadow Compositionist". once per turn: you can reveal one Fusion Monster in your Extra deck, and declare a name that is listed on that Fusion Monster; this cards name becomes the declared name until the end of the turn. while this card is in your graveyard: you can target 1 "Compositionist" monster on your side of the field; destroy that target, and special summon this card from the graveyard. You can only use 1 effect of "Shadow Compositionist" once per turn, and only once that turn.
- Comments:
this card right here is something that i made to ensure that you weren't locked in at playing at your opponents pace, and be able to not depend on your opponent for plays. however having that ability, i felt there needed to be a speed lock on him as well to ensure it couldn't get out of control, so i've made it to where you can either search, destroy and ss it, or change its name for a fusion monster. that being said, i feel this will be the only card to be made this way to keep with the idea of the deck.
- Fire Compositionist:
- Stats/Effect:
ATK:1400 DEF:500 TYPE:Pyro ATT:Fire LVL:4 Effect:You can substitute this card for any 1 Fusion-Material Monster. When you do this, the other Fusion-Material Monster(s) must be the correct one(s). When this card you control is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 "Compositionist" monster from your Deck in Defense Position, except "Fire Compositionist" You can only use this effect of "Fire Compositionist" once per turn. A Fusion Monster that used this card as a Fusion Material inflicts piercing battle damage if it battles a Defense Position monster.
- Comments:
the remaining four compositionists are for when you can make your plays, and set up for what effects you want. they should be self explanatory, but i will do my best to explain my reasoning in making them the way they are. for this one, i just felt it was more appropriate to make it a peircing effect than an attack boost.
- Water Compositionist:
- Stats/Effect:
ATK:200 DEF:800 TYPE:Aqua ATT:Water LVL:2 Effect:You can substitute this card for any 1 Fusion-Material Monster. When you do this, the other Fusion-Material Monster(s) must be the correct one(s). When this card you control is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 "Compositionist" monster from your Deck in Defense Position, except "Water Compositionist" You can only use this effect of "Water Compositionist" once per turn. A Fusion Monster that used this card as a Fusion Material is unaffected by Trap effects.
- Comments:
my reasoning for this and wind was simply to make it easier for people who've played/played against Yang Zings to make the connection to what they would do.
- Wind Compositionist:
- Stats/Effect:
ATK:1200 DEF:0 TYPE:Winged Beast ATT:Wind LVL:3 Effect:You can substitute this card for any 1 Fusion-Material Monster. When you do this, the other Fusion-Material Monster(s) must be the correct one(s). When this card you control is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 "Compositionist" monster from your Deck in Defense Position, except "Wind Compositionist" You can only use this effect of "Wind Compositionist" once per turn. A Fusion Monster that used this card as a Fusion Material is unaffected by Spell effects.
- Comments:
do the shimmy
- Earth Compositionist:
- Stats/Effect:
ATK:0 DEF:1900 TYPE:Rock ATT:Earth LVL:2 Effect:You can substitute this card for any 1 Fusion-Material Monster. When you do this, the other Fusion-Material Monster(s) must be the correct one(s). When this card you control is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon 1 "Compositionist" monster from your Deck in Defense Position, except "Earth Compositionist" You can only use this effect of "Earth Compositionist" once per turn. A Fusion Monster that used this card as a Fusion Material is unaffected by Monster effects.
- Comments:
this one i'm expecting people to raise their eyebrows at, but it isn't as easy to set up something that would be uneffected by monster effects outside of the compositionist archtype as you would think. the easiest way i've been able to set it up takes at least 3 specific cards to make roy first turn, but even then, it would be a play that would leave you low on card advantage for at least the next turn.
- Spell Cards:
- Fusion of the Lost Arts:
- Effect:
Banish monsters from your hand, field, or graveyard, Monsters that are listed on a Fusion Monster Card, and Fusion Summon that Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck. You cannot conduct your Battle Phase the turn you activate this effect. if this card is in your graveyard: you can banish this card, and select 1 Fusion Summoned monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it. You can only activate 1 effect of "Fusion of the Lost Arts" per turn, and only once that turn.
- Comments:
i guess you can say its the "Soul Charge" of the deck, and for other fusion decks. i had made this generic because there isnt too good of a generic fusion spell card out at the moment, and the decks that make fusions wouldn't become broken from it either. you can argue that making a card like this would cause a lot of problems, but the way i see it, there isn't any deck that fuses monsters that can make this a game breaking card.
- Extra Deck:
- Twilight Compositionist:
- Stats/Effect:
ATK:1500 DEF:1500 TYPE:Spellcaster ATT:Earth LVL:4 Effect:1 LIGHT "Compositionist" Monster + 1 DARK "Compositionist" Monster. This card can only be Special Summoned (from your extra deck) by returning the appropriate monsters in your Banished zone to your Graveyard. (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon.) You can only Special Summon 1 "Twilight Compositionist" this way per turn. You can Banish this card; Banish, from your side of the field or graveyard, Fusion Material Monsters listed on a Fusion Monster, and Special Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck. (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon.) if you do this, it immediately becomes the End Phase of this turn. you can only activate this effect of "Twilight Compositionist" once per turn, and only once that turn.
- Comments:
the reasoning behind this card is due to the fact the deck relies on spell cards that are 1-and-done essentially. so after about 4-5 fusions the deck falls apart, which is where this card comes into play. the type specific materials was a way to stop this card from gaining any inherent protection. originally, i was going to make this card a fusion substitute and force the user to use this card as a fusion material, but i felt that banishing it as a cost makes it more risky and leaves you more wide open to responces. the immediate ep was meant to round it out due to me feeling that it would still be a bit too strong if it didnt have at least a speed lock.
- StrongArm, the Compositionist Berserker:
- Stats/Effect:
ATK:3000 DEF:1500 TYPE:Warrior ATT:Earth LVL:8 Effect:1 "Compositionist" Fusion Monster + 1 "Compositionist" Monster.
- Comments:
the reasoning for this cards existance is very simple: the deck lacked a beater. using a fusion compositionist was meant to prevent the potential to make a archtype tower, which i felt was very unhealthy for the game to even exist.
- Roy, the Compositionist Knight:
- Stats/Effect:
ATK:1700 DEF:1000 TYPE:Warrior ATT:Earth LVL:5 Effect: 2 "Compositionist" monsters Must first be Fusion Summoned. When this card is Special Summoned: you can Special Summon 1 "Compositionist" monster from your graveyard. Once per turn: you can banish 1 "Compositionist" monster in your graveyard to activate one of the following effects: ●Destroy 1 monster on the field. ●Draw 1 card.
- Comments:
short and sweet: this is meant to be an engine card to help clear out problem cards and help balance speed. this card is inherently a -2 to even play assuming your opponent negates the summon effect, so giving it an effect to either let you go neutral or make your opponent go -1 was okay to make. it was also ment to have low attack to make sure it wasn't impossible to run over after it was summoned.
- Elric, the Compositionist King:
- Stats/Effect:
ATK:2300 DEF:1700 TYPE:Warrior ATT:Earth LVL:7 Effect: 3 "Compositionist" monsters Must first be Fusion Summoned. When this card is Special Summoned: you can Special Summon 1 "Compositionist" monster from your deck, or graveyard. if this card leaves the field, you can select 1 card on your side of the field, and 1 of your Banished "Compositionist" monsters; destroy the first target, and Special Summon the second target. once per turn: you can activate one of the following effects: ●shuffle 1 "Compositionist" Monster in your Banished zone into your deck, and draw 1 card. ●you can reveal one Fusion Monster in your Extra deck, and declare a name that is listed on that Fusion Monster; this cards name becomes the declared name until the end of the turn.
- Comments:
the decks boss monster. inherently a -3, i felt i could be a bit more generous with this cards effects and make it to where you could go +2 with its 1st activation effect, seeing as how when you get this out, it will more than likely only last one turn due to its low attack.
that's it from me. let me know what you think! |
